Matcha set
In Japan matcha is traditionally drunk from a bowl. Very finely worked and yet simple in execution, perfect for the presentation of high quality Matcha. For dosing the green tea powder a bamboo spoon, also called “chashaku”, is used. The “chashaku” is carved out of bamboo and bent by hand over hot steam with a lot of patience into its spoon shape. The completion of the Matcha set is a whisk which is cut from one piece of bamboo, in Japanese it is called “chasen”. The “chasen” is used to whisk the Matcha powder into an indulgent drink with a light foam. A real treat in a bright green color.
Good to know
The Matcha bowl holds about 200ml. Depending on your own liking, take 1-2 bamboo spoons of Matcha and add about 100ml at water (app. 80°C). Use the bamboo whisk to foam the Matcha for about 10-20 seconds.
After use, the bamboo whisk is placed on the ceramic whisk holder to dry.
