Advent season is Guetzli time

Do you know why Guetzli will be baked during Christmas?
There are some explanations for this. For example, that the Celts have already prepared Guetzli to soothe ghosts who searched people in the dark season with fine pastries. Others believe that the Guetzli originated in the Middle Ages.
At that time, people had to create a supply of food for the intellectual winter. Guetzli were long -lasting and fatty and therefore good food in the cold months.
Which theory may be right, Guetzli simply belongs to Advent. Try different recipes at home with your loved ones, snacking dough when Guetzliduft flows through the kitchen, and of course at the end you immediately taste all the varieties, not only makes children's eyes shine.
Our Guetzli recipe this year inspires thanks to vanilla and ginger, nicely decorated with red marzipan and rosemary, the pastries are reminiscent of small advent wreaths. A freshly brewed Sirocco espresso or coffee rounds off a coherent Advent day.
We wish you a nice pre -Christmas season.
