Hojicha is a warming, mild tea with full roasted aroma. Our organic hojicha sticks contain very finely ground Japanese roasted organic green tea powder and are superb for savoring a mellower alternative to matcha or coffee. In Japanese, the term hōjicha means “roasted tea.” This Japanese tea specialty is produced by expertly roasting dried green tea leaves – along with the stems in classical processing –after the steaming process. The tea is low in caffeine and has a signature rich aroma, revealing fine nutty and caramel notes.
After roasting, the leaves are very finely ground. This milled powder makes for a particularly mild, smooth taste with a gently refreshing touch – ideal for a relaxed way to start your day or for a well-earned break in between. Once processed, the hojicha powder is packed airtight in sticks to best preserve flavor and freshness.

Using a bamboo tea whisk, slowly stir the powder into hot water cooled down to about 80° C. This creates a fine, light foamy texture – a true visual and sensorial delight!
