Lauren’s Scones

Lauren is an enthusiastic young tea drinker. She prefers to like her “Pinky Tea” our Sirocco Red Kiss Bio-fruit tea-what a surprise!
At first glance, the recipe is a bit special (Sprite or Citro in pastries?), But it really works and the result speaks for itself ... and that within 20 minutes.
Ingredients
300g flour, sifted and well mixed with 1½ teaspoon of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of salt
55g sugar
125ml full cream
125ml Sprite or Elmer Citro
40ml milk to brush
preparation
Preheat the oven to 200ºC, then sift the base flour mixture (with the baking powder and the teaspoon of salt) a good seven and mix with the sugar in a large bowl, add and mix and mix and mix.
Spread the dough on a floury surface about 2 cm thick and 22cm wide, divide the round dough into 6 to 8 "cake pieces" (or alternatively place approx. 6cm round pieces on a baking sheet and brush with the milk and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the surface is gold brown.
And decorated homemade scones, with whipped cream or curd cheese and a spoon of fine strawberry jams.
