The Majestic – White Silver Needle

White Silver Needle is a highly sought-after tea. Certified organic White Silver Needle is even rarer. We are therefore fortunate to be able to offer this rarity.

White tea owes its name to the white, silky down that covers the young tea buds. The highest-quality variety, "Yin Zhen" (Silver Needle), is one of the most sought-after and expensive white teas, for which only the very young and aromatic shoots – the buds – of the tea bush are picked.

The harvest takes place only on a few days a year, when the weather is perfect. It must be neither rainy nor windy, as this would damage the delicate tea.

As soon as the fresh blossoms of the jasmine bush become available in summer, they are carefully mixed into the tea by hand to scent it. A few days later, the blossoms are painstakingly sorted by hand. This process is repeated several times, each time with fresh blossoms. The result is a light white tea with a wonderfully floral jasmine scent.

Since only the most tender leaves and youngest shoots, or even just the buds, are used for white tea, these teas are particularly high in caffeine. So why not start your day with a white tea?

White teas should be brewed at a water temperature of 80–85 °C (let the water stand in the kettle for about one minute after boiling). The optimal brewing time for this type of tea is 3 to 4 minutes.
