Cross-country sponsorship

Langlauf-Sponsoring

We at SIROCCO are very happy to support a Swiss young runner as a godfather during a year and to accompany the 2022/2023 season.

Silvan Hauser from Schwändi

Silvan Hauser from the canton of Glarus is 18 years old and has fallen into cross -country skiing and mountains since the toddler age. His long -term goal is a fixed starting place in the World Cup.

Would you like to get to know the athlete a little better? Then read the following interview with Silvan Hauser.

What fascinates you in cross-country skiing?
In cross-country skiing, I like that you are traveling a lot in nature and snow and that the training is very balanced. I also like the competitions and the adrenaline.

Can you practice the sport from your place of residence or did you have to switch to a sports school?
I live in the Glarnerland and unfortunately it is not so snow -safe there. I also can't from the front door to the cross -country skiing skis. That's why I decided to go to the sports high school in Davos. There I have optimal conditions for training and can on foot on the trail.

What does a typical training day look like? How often do you train per week?
During a typical training day I get up in the morning and eat enough for breakfast. Then I get ready for training, which usually takes around 2 hours. After training, it is important again that you eat enough at noon. With a full belly I often do a short lunchtime before the second training session. On average, I train about 2pm per week.

What do you do during the summer months?
During the summer months I mostly travel with the roller skis or on foot and now and then also with the bike or the racing bike. A weekly strength training is also part of the summer program.

Do you also work in a different profession next to the cross -country skiing?
I am a student in the sports high school in Davos.

How can the work/school be reconciled with the cross -country skiing?
The sports high school has a very good system so that you have enough time for training. We have half a day school and half a day of training. In addition, there is always a trainer in training.

How do you keep your motivation to go full throttle in every training session?
I enjoy cross -country skiing and I have cool teammates. With them it is always fun during and next to the training and on the other hand you can push each other to the limit.

Is the diet in cross -country skiing or can you eat what you want?
I would say that nutrition in cross -country skiing is important. You have to eat enough so that you also have the necessary energy for training. But I don't have a nutritional plan, but I see that I eat a balanced diet.

How does Sirocco's sponsorship help you?
The financial support helps me a lot. The school in Davos, the trip and the squad contributions are associated with high costs. Due to the support, I can cover part of these costs and also relieve my parents financially. Due to the support, I get a step closer to my goals.

What is your favorite sirocco product?
My favorite products are the wellness teas, the Piz Palü and Red Kiss.

What are your goals for the coming season?
My goal for this season is participation in the youth world championship and a top 10 place in a Continental Cup.

The everyday life of a cross-country skiing athlete is characterized by countless training hours in the weight room, on the skis, with material tests and the perfection of running technology. The goal of gliding as quickly and effortlessly over the snow with the perfect material and the right technique is the daily incentive at top performance.

Silvan Hauser and Sirocco have this striving for perfection. We also always check the recipes of our creations and refine them to perfection - only the best is good enough!

We wish Silvan Hauser good luck for the upcoming season and that he achieved his goals!
