One of the most famous stories regarding the origins of Lapsang souchong dates back to the Ming Dynasty. One year, during turbulent times, the tea harvest was abruptly interrupted, and growers had to quickly roast their freshly picked tea leaves with local pine wood to prevent spoilage.

Lapsang souchong is impressive on its own, enhances mild teas with a deep, smoky allure, and is the perfect aromatic for taste-tempting dishes. Even when steeped for a longer time, it will retain its mellow smoothness and won’t get bitter.
